Hi All,

We want to visit Colorado next week as the kids (9 & 7 years) are requesting us to take them for Skiing.
We will be driving from Austin, Tx.
This is going to be their first Ski experience.

Which place is best for the Skiing lessons for the younger kids?

Also if there are economical packages that offer both stay and skiing lessons that would be great.

Thank you all.

I would recommend Loveland for economical ski lessons. Steer clear of the big resorts like Vail and Aspen, they will not be inexpensive.

I have never been to Eldora so unfortunately I can't speak to it.

Loveland as a separate beginner area, which is nice. It's a ski area though, not a resort, so no accommodation. For that you can look at George Town. If you stay in GT, eat at the happy cooker.

You might also want to check out if they rent ski equipment.

Eldorado is closer to the front range and at a lower elevation. I assume they are late to open, early to close, but that's just guess.

Thank you. George Town or JohnsTown? Just want to make sure as the distance is around 90 miles between Loveland and George Town.

We have decided to stay in Boulder for four nights, and visit Loveland for a day or two.
Any suggestions for the nearest places that we can visit for the other days?

I think you have the town of Loveland along I-25 (near Fort Collins) confused with the ski area called Loveland which is along the I-70. Georgetown is only about 15-20 mins from Loveland.

Easy mistake to make, I should have been clearer, sorry!

Monarch. Family-oriented, relatively inexpensive, scenic, great snow, lower BMW concentration. Stay in Salida, have fun.
