If I am working in Pueblo, what's a good community to live / commute from? (Colorado Springs: school)

We are relocating to Colorado in a few weeks. My work will be in Pueblo but my wife will work in C-Springs. We need some advice on whether it is best to live in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, or somewhere in-between in terms of commute, cost of living and quality of life for ourselves?

We also have a 3-year old child so we would like to move in to a nice suburb community where we could take our son to parks, lakes and child playgrounds during our free time. Generally speaking, we are leaning towards moving to Colorado Springs based on everything we've read on this forum. That way, I would be the only one making a long commute.

Any advice for us where to move? Did anybody live in either of those cities and can recommend either one? Should we move to Colorado Springs, Pueblo or in a nice suburb somewhere in-between? It looks like the daily commute from C-Springs to Pueblo would not be horrible, about 50 minutes.

Fountain, CO would be a good spot on the southern side of COLO SPGS. That way mom is near work and the child's school. You'd have a reverse commute, which is better than the norm. IMO, more to offer in the larger city of COLO SPGS.

Pueblo West is also another option but on the north side of highway 50. Then you are in a good school system, district 70, and the commute for both of you is not a bad one as there is not much traffic between Colorado Springs and Pueblo.
