I agree. Sadly many of the pointless Negative comments appear in newspapers blogs and most are whining rather than constructive comments. Personally, I'm never sure if I should laugh or send them a slice of cheese and a cracker to accompany their whine.
You can always find one or more people in every forum who are willing to be the first to jump up and point out the negative of a city, state, event, person, situation, house, 'hood, employer, church, race, politics, story, etc., for the shock effect and attention be it praise or rage.
As a general rule of thumb (in most forums, anyway) it called trolling and it is not welcomed. I see the same type of behavior in many different forums. Columbia and SC are not alone in this battle.
The best response to a negative comment is no response - as if the poster making the remark does not exist and did not make the remark.Ignore it and make positive comments. There is nothing more pathetic than a standup comic and no audience.
