I'm in the process of finalizing for a wonderful job in Columbia which means relocating the family. We currently live in Virginia Beach VA and want to find a out a few things about our potential new stomping grounds. From what we've seen on line, there doesn't seem to be a lot of diversity in most areas-yes I'm talking Black/White interactions. Other than living near colleges in the city, are any of the rural areas diverse in nature. Schools are not an issues as all of our children are currently in college or the work force. We love the Whitmire area is that a good place to start ?

I don't know much about the rural areas, but there are many city neighborhoods that are very diverse - I live in a very diverse neighborhood myself.
