After my visit to Columbia all I can say is WOW I'm Impressed! The Vista was amazing! First stop was to Wet willies where they had an awesome band Peace & Love playing Friday night! After that we did alittle dancing at The Flying Saucers then when things dies down there around 1 off to 5 Points which seemed more of a college kid destination but all in all I was Impressed with the nigh life scene in Downtown Columbia. Granted it is not Atlanta but those two areas felt like big city night life. I LOVE the diversity in the vista as I like al types of clubs and you can get the best of all worlds there. In fact the diversity that Columbia has where all races party in the same district is almost unheard of in The South except for Atlanta's buck head or Charlotte. Not sure how long Columbia has been like this but you are lighyears ahead of most southern cities. I will be on business trips to Columbia every other month so I look forward to exploring the rest of the city after this weekend. This City has deffinetly changed changed ( for the better) since my teenage years when we used to visit when I lived in Augusta. I heard of the Village at Sand Hills and how is there night life there or is it mainly shopping?

Glad you enjoyed it. I agree that Columbia has come a long way in the last few years.

Sand Hills is more of a shopping destination, you hit the two main bar districts. Main St. is coming along, but has yet to hit the critical mass of the Vista and 5 points.

I know this is about Columbia... but West Columbia also has a mini 'west vista' district that has been evolving over the years
