Sorry people are so shallow.....if we move to Lexington it's because the taxes here in Pa are outragous we are not able to buy a home I am 71 yrs old and we are losing our home over the mortgage rates...my husbands brother lives in Lexington and his wife is a school teacher...they bought their home but we can't at our age....will Lexington accept a senior couple????

Yes, Lexington would generally be considered a good part of the Columbia area, although there are a few not-so-good areas in Lexington.

I don't understand why you're losing a home over rates. Do you have an ARM? You need to try not to lose the home outright because it affects insurance, ability to rent, and other things too. If worse comes to worse, at least look at signing over the deed to the bank in lieu of foreclosure and try to save your credit score as much as you can.

I think it's very easy to tell when you begin looking at a home, but IMO, the southside of Lexington is not as nice as the west, north and east side.

Yes, not everyone is paid out the wazzoo and can afford to buy a home. Not everyone wants to deal with mortages and whatnot. I don't feel people should judge you based on that.
