Does anyone know if the Charleston Post and Courier newspaper has any home delivery in Columbia? I know I can pick it up at supermarkets and other locations, but would love to get it delivered. Thanks for your help!

I doubt it - newspapers are going the way of the dinosaurs and they have been shrinking their delivery areas. You could try calling the newspaper, though.

Yes, I plan to call them this week, but I doubt they do deliver in this area. I can get delivery of USA Today and The Wall Street Journal. Wish we could get the Charlotte paper. Although we get most of our news online, we like a real print paper to read with breakfast, which probably makes us dinosaurs, too!

LOL, it's ok to be a dinosaur, but I know newspapers have been reducing their delivery areas to reduce costs. I'm sure the day is not far off that home newspaper delivery will be a thing of the past, kind of like the milkman.

So what grocery stores have it? Kroger Forest Drive used to but the manager there didn't even know it stopped coming!

An aside. I moved to Columbia from Charleston. I soon found out the State newspaper is a "toilet rag" compared to the P&C. Such a shame that the capital city has such an inferior newspaper.

The State used to be a great newspaper. No doubt it has declined.

Hard copies of newspapers are for old-timers. Their websites are comparable.

The Charlotte Observer is still sold in Greenville and Spartanburg at Publix and QuikTrip stores, and at least 2 local newsstands. But ironically The State paper is no longer delivered to the Upstate. Nor is the Atlanta Journal-Constitution which used to be distributed here.

Both the State paper and the Charlotte Observer are now owned by McClatchy, and they have both declined a bit and cut back on content since the days of Knight-Ridder. But you can purchase a paid subscription for the exact digital replica of the print edition.
