I know you hate the comparisons, but I'm curious. Thanks:0

I'm not sure which city has more transplants, but I'll offer this comparison - Obama won Richland County (Columbia) by 29% and McCain won Greenville County by a similar margin.

LOL, I'm very big into statistics. I'm a banker by trade so it comes with the territory. As far as the original question I think Columbia is definitely the most liberal city in SC, but not liberal by New York standards.

Just because McCain won Greenville doesn't mean anything. Some conservatism isn't bad. As a matter of fact I claim neither. Too liberal or too conservative are both bad. Too liberal=folks running rampant with no morals and too conservative=control freaks, so you choose.

I answered the question asked though I am liberal myself and don't want to live in a conservative city.

I'm neither. To claim either is kinda extreme because you judge based on that. By the way, I voted Obama and think he doesn't claim either. I voted based on the issues. He has morals and values. Some of the same ones you say are conservative.

Richland went for Obama because of the much higher black population in Richland. This says nothing about being being a true liberal, it just shows the votes were along racial lines.

There is no true liberal city in South Carolina.
