Hello - My wife, baby and I are moving to the area in the fall for work and my plant will be just off of I-20 in Aiken, SC (Graniteville, tecnically) and I want to live as close to Columbia as possible but without a dreaded commute. It seems Lexington is maybe a good compromise? Is that a fair statement. Google Maps says that lex to the plant is about 45 minutes and 45 miles. However, what kind of communte would this be? A gentleman in a sub post told this would be going against rush-hour, so that is good, but do you guys think this is a good idea or is it going to be a tough haul each day and night?

Also, My wife and I are worried that Lexington will be too buttoned-up of a community for us. We are early 30's, extremely liberal, tattoo'd (yet professional) vegetarians. Is the right place for us? Is there another place within commuting distance of Aiken that someone could recommend?
