No Georgia cities have a true skyline. However, I like the buildings in Columbus better. Too bad Aflac isn't downtown and TSYS didn't build taller. Columbus will see more buildings in the future. With so much development going on downtown, it is just a matter of time.

That's not really true, according to the definition of what a skyline is, as some Georgia cities outside of Atlanta do. I think it will be quite a while before Columbus starts being much taller buildings.

I think Augusta,Macon, and Possibly Savannah have them, as you can see Augusta's way before you get into the city coming from South Carolina, You can see Macon's from a shorter distance, you can see Savannah's to a lesser extent. That's just not the case for Columbus, minus one or two buildings, but I wouldn't call that a skyline.

Agree completely. Columbus does have nicer buildings. Hopefully we will see more with all of the development going on downtown 👍.

Nicer compared to what? Everything is basically brick, but I guess what is nicer is open to interpretation.

im the old columbusmetro89 im back I have a new account. I agree that downtown columbus ga needs a better looking attractive skyline with a few taller buildings. And I hope on down the line we can see a nice highrise condo be built in the downtown area it surely is needed with all the growth downtown columbus is currently experiencing. There shops opening up all over downtown and downtown is busy and vibrant today than it ever has. The phenix and eagle condo's are almost booked and sold so that tells you that people are moving downtown. So I think we need a highrise condo to be built downtown somewhere to accommodate the growth downtown. People now are wanting to live downtown to live, work, and play because of all the entertainment and things to do downtown. Right now is the best time for Columbus to lure in a private developer and have them build a highrise condo downtown. If a highrise condo does get built it would have no problem attracting buyers the rooms would sell like hotcakes like the phenix and eagle condos did. People are now wanting to invest in downtown because of the potential. I was just riding threw downtown the other day and it was a thursday and could not believe how packed downtown was on a thursday. I remember back in the day how dead and borning downtown was when there was just a few stores downtown but that's not the case anymore. Since the whitewater river park has came about it really brought downtown columbus to a new level it's thriving and active and there's stores in every outlet downtown. Downtown columbus has came a longway and is busy than ever before. The only key piece is that downtown is missing is a lack of condo's for people to live and that's where a highrise condo needs to came in play. The phenix and eagle condo's are not enough to accommodate the people that want to relocate and move downtown. And that doesn't count the college students who are and will be living downtown. When you ride downtown on a weekend you can not even find a parking space to park it's so full. We also need another parking garage downtown somewhere.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the last time I looked Aflac, TSYS, Carmike Cinemas, and the Government Center buildings weren't brick.....
