These City Mills buildings are where the new brewery is going. Hoping they announce which one is coming.

Not a movie theater but a venue showcasing live talent local and national.

Columbus is a black hole with national or even regional band tours. A venue that can attract a stop between Birmingham and Macon or even Atlanta or Athens would be huge. I know there are a few parties trying to start that kind of venue up, here's to em.

Columbus pulls decent acts throughout the year. Need to pay more attention.

I think I pay more attention than most of what's been to town and what's coming, though if you know something I've missed, please share.

I know that big regional acts like Kinchafoonee Cowboys, Corey Smith, and Futurebirds are all touring the region this month and none of them stopped in Columbus. Corey Smith was here last year, but he was also in Macon and Augusta last year and is going back to those cities. Futurebirds stopped by a couple years ago, hasn't been back since, and they've been in Macon twice since then.

I know that more nationwide acts tend to skip Columbus in favor of Montgomery or even LaGrange. I know that on www.jambase.com right now if you search 31901 and up to 200 miles, you'll see every similar sized city in the region with upcoming shows over the next month, but you won't find Columbus.

The next show in Columbus I have tickets for is when Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen come in October. I'll be going out of town at least a half dozen times before then to catch some live music.

It's not an insult to the city to say that it desperately needs a mid-size venue to attract decent acts. We started to get it with Eighty-Five bar (though that was too small), but the college shut it down and the progress for live music was lost.

I have noticed a lot of bands I've followed seem to have skipped Columbus and I'd like to see a good venue to attract some of them. Also why not both a downtown movie theater and a music venue? I foresee a lot of growth coming in the future to our downtown and there should be room for both.
