Right, but I meant that you will end up disliking or liking someone on an individual basis rather than simply making assumptions based on race.

Many people in Columbus either don't know this or ignore it, but there are several White Supremacist groups that HQ/operate out of C-Bus. . .

If most are unaware of it, these groups are obviously not large or significant enough to gain much attention. Still, I imagine just about every city in the nation has these kinds of nuts.

I wouldn't entirely disagree with you, but many White Supremacist groups are known from a national perspective, and no one really thinks that there might be an Aryan Nations "chapter" in their city. I would agree fully that most cities have a segment of the population like this, but I have done fairly extensive research into the White Power movement for a sort of Thesis in college and it was pretty shocking when it came to not only Columbus, but mid-southern Ohio in general. I don't think they are as big as they once were, because most of the research was from the late 90's, and there hasen't been nearly as much done recently. Many different organized crime groups/gangs have been little (compared to times before 9/11) researched or investigated since 9/11, because so many efforts have been put towards terrorism.

Depends whether you are using the real meaning of racist (attributing characteristics or properties to an individual race) or the knee jerk PC version of racist (attributing negative characteristics to an individual based on race)

Everyone is racist.
(I think the french, Irish and Italian are pretty. So I married one. Yep, that is racist)
Saying Polynesians have dark hair is racist.
I once posted that blacks are given priority in hiring in Philadelphia. It was removed from the board because it was 'racist'. Well, yeah, if you mention race, it's racist, so what?

Do people live in Columbus? Yes

Therefore....draw your own conclusions.

I don't take White Supremacist groups seriously. They had some prominence decades ago, but we're well past the days when this kind of stuff is widespread. The fact that they're so unknown is a good indication of just how fringe they have become. If they have a significant presence in Columbus, you certainly wouldn't know it, and at the end of the day, what's the point?

Totally. White Supremicist groups are about as loud as Black Panther groups in this country -- pretty quiet. They bark a lot and make a lot of noise but most people don't listen because they are too stupid for life. Anyone who idolizes Hitler can't be too smart.....Hitler was psychotic. Columbusthe most openly racist place I've ever lived in but that may not mean much on a national scale, but that doesn't mean it can't improve.

Remember, the Dispatch covers a lot of rural SE Ohio too, so some of these comments could be comming from more rural redneck areas than Columbus proper. With OSU and being a fairly progressive city for the Midwest, I'd say Columbus is ok in the race department.

There are still divisions/segregation by neighborhoods in some areas (just by looking at the census statistical demographics), but this is true of pretty much every city in Ohio, the US, and even the world. Dayton's West Side, South LA and Compton, or the suburbs of Paris are all indicitive of this event.
You need to spend some time in SE Ohio. Nothing racist about it.

Everyone is NOT racist............we may have prejudice's but I would not say everyone is racist.

Repeat that to yourself, it even sounds foolish." everyone is racist".

When I lived on the Northside most of the racism I saw was from whites AND blacks against Somalians. Take that for what you will.
