My brother was recently killed in a home on the South Side of Columbus Ohio last week, actually near Franklin, right near Interstate 70.

No one has been arrested. So my questions are:

Is there a "no snitch rule" in urban areas of Columbus?

What is the South Side like??

Do homicides get solved in that particular area??

He was not from the area by the way. Any info you can tell me about the area would help. Thanks.

So sorry about your loss. Unfortunately, I have no knowledge for you.

I am so sorry for your loss.

That area you are describing (between Franklin University and I-70) is mainly business oriented properties. Not to say there aren't any residences there but most of them are apartments. In fact I think it would be more aptly described as downtown than south Columbus. From what I can tell that area is really hit or miss. Just across the freeway you have German Village which is an upscale historic district but as you travel east from there you see a fair amount of poverty. East of Franklin University you have some large historic properties and also pockets of houses in severe decay. Essentially it is a neighborhood undergoing gentrification. There is a great deal of improvement being done in that area including creating a very large outdoor park in the center of all the businesses and the design of a new bridge. Ultimately it is not necessarily a neighborhood I would want to live in but we frequent it fairly often for the library and restaurants.

As for the rest of your questions regarding arrest records and police relationship with area residents I think the best information you will get will be from the police force themselves.

Again, so sorry for your loss.

Thanks. I appreciate the synopsis. As for the other questions. No one has been arrested and I'm just curious as to the competency of the Columbus PD. Just wondering will any real effort be made to solve this. But you're right, I'll contact them. Thanks.
