Millennial Tower Proposal Going Back to Downtown Commission | ColumbusUnderground.com

So the Millennial Tower is going for another pass at the Downtown Commission on Tuesday. The project seems to be almost the same design, except that the height has increased to 28 stories instead of the original 25 (and a later suggestion of 24). This is one of 4 25+ story towers currently being proposed around Downtown.

What are you counting as the other 3? NM tower and the 2 in the Scioto Peninsula development framework? Or are there others at a further/more concrete stage that I'm forgetting?

Those are the other 3. North Market is definitely happening, as they even have a construction schedule. The two on the Scioto Peninsula are more conceptual, but the city is pushing for high-rises on that scale for that area. It's possible we could see a few more than that in the final plans, who knows.

^ Agreed. NM is definitely a go, and its success should spur more regardless as it will provide a much-needed comp for other developers. I think the SP ones are very likely too as long as the economy remains strong (and hot garbage Carter is not chosen as the master developer). I remain much more skeptical of "Millennial Tower" however.

Same here. After the "we promise, it's coming!" for years with SPARC, I am hesitant to believe in Arshot coming through on it.

Motorists has given plans for a 5-story, 105-unit brownstone project for a vacant lot along Oak Street facing Topiary Park. The project will also include some retail space and is the first phase of a large development.

Major Redevelopment Planned for University City Center on Olentangy River Road | ColumbusUnderground.com

A 6-story, mixed-use building with 237 apartments is planned to replace the 1-story University City Center strip plaza on Olentangy River Road.
Let's hope that the rest of the suburban style outlets and huge parking lot will also eventually be redeveloped in similar fashion.

A study for the area around the convention center has concluded with some of the main points being:

-The addition of a 1,000-room hotel, with potential locations narrowed down to the area above the railroad tracks between the Hyatt and the convention center, an addition to the Hyatt, and the southeast corner of Nationwide and High. None of these locations are very large, so any hotel has the potential to have some decent height to it (20+ stories).
-Renovating Park Street to be more pedestrian friendly.
-Closing Spruce Street to be pedestrian only.
-Remaking the Goodale-High intersection with some kind of art, etc.
