Hi,

I'm using Microsoft Outlook with my Hotmail account. When I read unread messages on Outlook, Hotmail still thinks that they are unread.

For example, I might use Outlook to read a message and when I sign in to Hotmail that message still remains unread.

In Outlook

Tools/Options/Mail Setup tab/Email Accounts button/View or change existing email accounts

Highlight the account in question and click Change

Click More Settings

On the Advanced tab remove the check from the check box for Leave a copy of messages on the server.

Click OK and/or Finish as required to back out of the dialog boxes.

Ummm, won't that REMOVE the message from webmail rather than having it marked as read?

My initial thought as well. I think that might be true in OE. Here's the dialog box.

It sounds like more of a sync issue between Outlook & hotmail, a google search indicates the OP is not alone, and it's not specific to Outlook.
