we are 2 ladies trying to figure out program instillations on my 7 yr old dell desktop comp-----i am having tons of problems trying to do anything on IE AND FIREFOX------here are the programs that i am now seeing on my comp list-----FF3.6.20 AND FF3.5.7,
FLASHPLAYER .EXE.PLUGIN AND FLASHPLAYER.AX.EXE
UNINSTALL PLASHPLAYER .EXE
SOME OF THESE JUST SHOWED UP DURING AN AUTOMATIC ATTEMPT BY FF TO UPDATE(IT TURNED OFF THE COMPUTER)----
don't have a clue by calling in the dd this weekend for help---any suggestions for her(she can at 10x the comp knowledge we have)
Your version of Firefox is pretty old. She might want to uninstall it and then download and install a more current copy. That may also solve the issues with Flash.
My best suggestion is also to update Firefox and Flash. Firefox is up to 10 and Flash to 11. Your DD (whatever that is) should be able to do it if this person has some computer knowledge.
As others stated, updating the version of your web browser would be a good start. Then update the related plug-ins such as Adobe Flash Player, etc.
Your Dear Daughter (?) would probably know how to go about this but my suggestion for her would be to uninstall (remove) the existing browser installations first, then run a temp/junk file cleaner such as CCleaner.
Afterwards, reboot the computer and then install the new versions.
