OK I think Vista keeps them in

C:\Users\(your user account name)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\
Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5

You'll want to set explorer to show hidden and system files. If you get to Temporary Internet Files and you still don't see content.ie5, just append it to the path in the address bar and hit enter. That's where you should see a bunch of randomly named folders which you can delete.

Set explorer to show hidden files.

After the 'windows' folder there are only '1033' 'burn', 'explorer', and 'game explorer'.....no 'temp internet files'...

not sure where the temp int files folder is....ill have to keep searching

The following list (from a Temp file cleaner script I use at work) shows you the locations of common temp/cache folders for the local user profile on Windows 7:
Quote:
"%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp"
"%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\His tory"
"%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Cac hes"
"%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Tem porary Internet Files"
"%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\His tory
"%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\C ookies"
"%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\R ecent"
"%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Office\Re cent" << assuming you have MS Office installed
%userprofile% is a variable, a shortcut pointer for "C:\User\username"

To see/change temporary Internet Files location for Internet Explorer, you could open Internet Properties window (Start > Run > inetcpl.cpl > OK) and click [Settings...] button under the section titles "Browsing history".

For Firefox/Waterfox, the Temporary Internet Files (cache) directory is:
Quote:
%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profil es\xxxxxx.default\Cache
Java cache is located:
Quote:
%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment \cache\6.0\...
Flash cache:
Quote:
%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\...
But I recommend using the applets on Control Panel to delete Java and Flash cache and manage their settings:

If anyone was interested, I attached a copy of the script I mentioned. Save it on your desktop, then change its extension from .txt to .cmd or .bat and it is good to go.

You can run it by double-clicking on it. It will give you a warning to close all running apps (documents, IE, etc.) so it does a more complete and effective job.
