Hi: I tried going to the Apple forums but they seem to be re-working them. Here's my question, I have a macbook pro, it's about 6months old. And I've noticed sometimes I'm on an internet browser (Safari) and try clicking elsewhere to the desktop or another application and the mouse will move around the screen but it will not click. I can't even go to the apple in the upper left corner to restart. Today a variation - I was able to click around different applications and browser but if for example I go to google to type a question I can't click on the box to add my text.

I've looked on my phone for answers and other than opening my computer, which I'm not going to do, I can't seem to find something I can do at home to fix this.

Has anyone experienced this, or would have advise for me? I will appreciate your comments. While I wait, I'm checking to make an appointment at the local apple store.

Thanks!

I have never experienced that problem with the MacBook. Anyway, see what kind of options you have selected in the System Preferences. On my MacBook, the icon for this folder is in the dock at the bottom of the screen, and looks like a box with a gear in the middle. If yours is not on the dock, then click on the Finder (the Finder should be in the dock):

a. Open System Preferences, and look for Trackpad
b. In Trackpad, click on the Point & Click bar at the left-top corner of the window
c. Select each box one at a time, and watch the finger (s) movements, and the location for the taps

Are you tapping (clicking) in the right location on the trackpad? Also, make sure that your fingers are clean and dry before you tap. For example, water on your fingers sometimes interferes with the "tap." The most sensitive spot on the trackpad should be the center, or just slightly above the center, as shown in the instructions for tapping and clicking.
