Just checked the date on my mouse driver. Yea, they don't get updated very often. Mine is "HID COMPLIANT" dated: 2006.
I don't think your issue is driver related.
I had trouble with my optical mouse a couple of mornings ago for the first time in many, many years. Look at that mouse driver number - it is 10.0.17134.1. 17134 being the OS build number for 1803. That ain't from 2006....dollars to donuts that's a new driver updated very recently.
My problem was two days ago and that is exactly when a new cumulative update was applied. Strong evidence that MS is at it again.
Wireless mice and Windows 10 don't always play nice, and this problem is well documented on the Internet. I've had a ton of problems with them at work as well, and we even tested a Microsoft wireless keyboard/mouse combo that gave us grief. If you Google the issue, you'll find more information than you can read. There are a ton of possible fixes from updating a driver to registry hacks, but some of these fixes are not for the computer novice.
I'm at the point where I'd suggest that the average user stays away from wireless mice. If you find one that works well, keep it.
As I stated above (I am not the original poster), a wired mouse fixed my issue. Over the weekend, I bought a new Logitech mouse of the same model. Still working great. Something happened to mine. I did drop it 1 time a few weeks ago. I suspect that is what happened. It fell off my desk
