Locked out of Facebook since June---- (email, click, driver, security)

I tried to change something in my security and suddenly Facebook locked me out. Have tried everything to get back in. They wanted ID so I sent them a pic of my drivers license. Came back and said it would take awhile since Covid has them backed up. I would think 3 months would be enough time.

I didn't have to send a picture of my Driver License or any other form of ID when I signed up with Facebook. Have they changed the rules?
I signed up ok when I joined years ago but recently I tried to go into my security and change a date. after that they blocked me and I haven't been able to get back in without an ID.
I know some have been hacking accounts but I did not hack my own account. Just can't get Facebook to respond to me.

Change a date? What does that mean?
(I'm looking @ the security & login section on fb now and see no option for changing anything date related...)
I did but not getting my original Facebook back meant I lost all my pictures that was on there. I have to do all friend requests all over again, etc. Have to reload everything.

Uhhhg... Yeah, that would be a total pain in the butt.
I've heard about the ID thing. Years ago, I remember a friend of mine was having issues logging in. I think it was bc his 'display' name was a nickname, not his real first & last name. They were really going hard to confirm people's identities at that time...
But it seems ridiculous that they would give you the run around for several months and then blame covid.
