Okay, I've never been good with computers. I am the least technical person. I need things explained in simple terms or I lose focus.

So I have an HP Printer that my friend gave me. It's actually an hp laser printer ce320a. Now, I have a MacBook Air 2020.

I do have the printer hooked up. (power cable) From this point on, I have no idea how to connect my MacBook air to it by wifi.

I went to preferences and tried to ''add'' and nothing comes up.

What is the simplest way to solve this?

Here’s a video that will hopefully help you.

https://youtu.be/IHorTYycZlU

There are other videos available on YouTube or you should be able to go to your printers mfg’s website and get instructions.... should you still have an issue.

Hmm. Thanks. The printer doesn’t show up though under system preferences. So not sure what to do on the printers end. I’ll try to see if I can find the site.

When I google HP CF320A it says it is a printer toner carttridge. Are you sure that is the model number of the printer? There should be a data plate on teh printer with a model number and a serial number.

Oh it's. HP LaserJET CP1525nw

It printed a test report. Says router not found? I don't understand any of this.

Is there any cable I can use without having to figure out, wifi, routers, and all the technical stuff? I have no idea about any of this.

Guys what would you do if you were in my situation? It seems like a simple thing but I am totally lost and frustrated. And I have no idea what to do or which site to look at.

So it looks like this:
https://www.amazon.com/HP-LaserJet-C.../dp/B0044XSNHG

Does have Wifi. So it needs to be set up on WIfi first.
Or, yes, you can use a cable like this: https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-...NsaWNrPXRydWU=

Try the instructions here:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printe...g/td-p/1065441

It does involve initially connecting the printer to the router with an Ethernet cable. (to get the printer's IP address, as assigned by the router)

Good luck...........
