Hello all, anyone know how to download YouTube videos for a Mac Book Air? I tried the premium YouTube, it says it allows you to download videos but it doesn't allow you to save it to your computer, you only download it to their servers or something and can only access it through them and only while you have premium.

With premium YouTube, you can download the videos for offline viewing at anytime.

YouTube does not allow you to download the videos otherwise. This is against the TOS and copyright laws.

Your best bet is to contact the copyright owner of the video you wish to save and see if they are willing to send or sell you the video.

YouTube does still allow downloads for personal use. You just have to find software that can do it, or a working browsers extension.

They don't allow it. They just haven't figured out how to stop the various sites that can download YouTube videos. [Mod cut: not allowed]

Unfortunately, they just focus on going after the little guys who use those sites... and not the sites themselves.

Is this some new change? When did they stop allowing it?

That's weird the link doesn't work. You can also copy/paste the link. It's just the YouTube terms of service.

I don't believe the current terms are new. To me, it makes sense that YouTube doesn't allow people to make copies of (download) somebody else's content. That seems fairly standard.

I don't ever remember a time this was allowed legally.
