I have my 95 year old mom on a 32 bit corporate version of Windows 7. So no, I'm not going to post anything more about this.
Thats fine. You can be on any OS you want. It not being supported doesnt stop you from not logging onto it.
Im just really curious where you are getting these updates from.
That's a good point. I believe in "non-zero possibilities" so it's possible that the windows update process was hacked and the weekly KB.... updates are scams. I doubt it, but the next time I'm at my Mom's place I'll dig around.
Trying to fix a problem in Windoze? Find regedit and change some specific registry key that you will forget by Friday and which may get overwritten by the next Windows update which will reboot your PC five minutes before you're supposed to be presenting online.
That pretty much sums up my experience. DOS worked well, Windows 7 was tolerable - every release since then is practically useless.

I have never had any issues like you describe on any version of Widows from 3.1 to 95, to 7 to 10. I haven't upgraded to 11 due to sheer inertia.
...
I'm perfectly happy with a corporate version of Windows 7. Still gets security updates, supports cablecard equipment, has little bloat and enough feedback to let me know when a program has gone rogue.
...
Same here. Mostly.
I don't get any "regular" updates, but I do recall a couple of security updates.
And that has been the case since years ago, when I turned off the automatic updates.

That would be good to know, if it has.

Same here. At least at home.
Saddled with Win 11 at work.
What a joke. A Bad Joke.
Of course, I still miss Desqview and Borland Dbase III.
