I am looking for a comfortable cooling pad for my wife's Dell XPS 1530 :aptop computer, which she actually uses ias a laptop by sitting in the living room chair, and by doing that the vents on the bottom get blocked.

I know there are plenty of cooling pads, but most of them look like they were made to sit on a desk, VS using on your lap.

Recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I've used this for laptop cooling Reviews | Thermaltake iXoft (Page 1 of 3) | APH Networks. It has some sort of chemical in it that liquifies under heat and cools the laptop. However, it quite working after a while and still blocks the bottom vent.

I currently use this Black Laptop Lapdesk, Creative Manufacturing - Barnes & Noble . It has little pop up things to elevate the laptop so the vent is not blocked.

I use one of these (rubbermaid shelf helper) it's cheap and will last a long time. You can find them in different sizes. tinyurl.com/yzttuf2

There are a lot out there. Maybe this one from Thermaltake since she uses it on her lap:
Thermaltake iXoft Black Notebook Cooling Pad at TigerDirect.com
and more here:
LapLogic LapDesks for Home and Work
LaptopDesk.net - The World's #1 Laptop Desk
It depends on what she's comfortable with. I kind of like the ones that serve as mini-desks and let you store stuff and have room for the mouse.

A great cooling pad I discovered is ThermaPAK's HeatShift pad. I've been using it a couple of months and it really does work. You can get it on their website but i've seen it on amazon and ebay too.

I have a Targus. I never use it because it's a pain in the ass. So I'll throw an anti-vote to them.
