I chose the Wise registry cleaner specifically because it is conservative, allows you to review and tweak the suggested changes, and has a backup function. I agree that there are a lot of ways to clean a registry that are dangerous and beyond common skill levels. Check out the description of it on Snapfiles.

As for FreeRamPro, I also understand where you are coming from. The results I get are varied, sometimes faster, sometimes slower. Overall, it seems to have a slight positive effect. It likely is a YMMV situation.
