What's the job market like? I'll be graduating with a degree in Marketing and was curious as to what kinds of opportunities Hartford holds.

Also, how's the cost of living? Any nice Studio or 1 bedroom apartments for $700 a month?

Last, but not least, how are the spiders out there? I hate spiders, small, medium, big, all spiders, I hate them if they're inside the home. Are they common inside homes/apartments out in Connecticut?

Welcome to the CT forum.

A business degree in Marketing will hold some opportunities in Hartford; Much depends on previous work experience and expected starting salary. Banking, Insurance, and brokerage would be your best bets-and the Hartford area has a fair number of employers in this sector- at least currently. An economic downturn nationally would curtail new hires. Also Sales should be considered.

As for cost of living; I do not know where you are locating from to make a fair comparison. If coming from the west coast, NYC area, Boston, parts of Florida, Washington DC/NoVa it will be far less, if coming from the Midwest (excluding Chicagoland and Twin cities) it will be more- especially for housing.

A 1 bedroom apartment here of high quality/luxury will be around $1000 a month. A unit of good quality less (around $800)

Spiders here are not a significant problem.
Good luck!
