"To the OP: find a Peruvian place and try Lomo Saltado (it comes with this sauce called Aji which makes the meal 10x better). Sooooo goooood."

And if they have a liquor license, order a Pisco Sour ... national drink of Peru and one of the best in all of the Americas.

Frankly, SOuthington has sucky cuisines. Mostly American fare and pizza joints.
Bad Polish too at Liz's gourmet.

true Cuban is found at Soul de Cuba (new Haven).
Mexican at hole in wall: TAqueria Mexico (wallingford).
Upscale Mexican at: Oaxaca Kitchen (New Haven).
Peruvian at Cora Cora (Hartford).
Puerto Rican at La Cazuela (Waterbury).
Polish at Staropolska (New Britain).
Indian at Tandoor (New haven).
Paki at Shahi Zaika (waterbury)
Brazil at Brasil Grill (Hartford).
Spain spanish tapas at Ibiza Rest (New Haven).
Korean at Goong (East Hartford).
Chinese szechuan at Hao Si Chuan (West Haven).
