Waited a few days but saw no posts here about it. This is just a rumor but the Courant and NBC Conn. have also picked up on it; citing the below source.
Touchdown! NBC Sports Looking at Stamford. Move Would Bring 1,000 Jobs. — Daily Ructions
I'm sure most of the people currently working there will keep jobs and make the commute, maybe a shorter commute for some. It would give closer access for CT residents at any open positions that do become available. Not sure if any subsidy would be needed but the film credits should be enough.
Hope this happens and hope most of those employees would take the train
(thinks increased traffic on 95).

First I've heard of it (given how many Westchester County people commute over the state line to Stamford, including myself some of the time, this would sometimes be in the local news here). Thanks for noting!

Also nice to see Electric Boat getting another contract for $429 Million from the Navy. Seems slowly but surely there's good news touching all parts of the state.

The legislature is going to have a special session for jobs on Oct. 26th. I kind of have an itch that there will be another announcement or proposal for a business to move to CT but not getting hopes up. I do hope they change some laws to help current business in state to pay the bills (especially small biz who are having the most trouble). It's going to be a tough winter for some.

Its mildly good news, and much better if CT gets them and they stay at minimum 20 years. Most of the 1,000 as OP said will be reverse commutes, not new jobs open, until turnover occurs. In this economy, turnover rates are far lower than 3 years ago. So that is why the bar for relos coming from the next county or two conducive to reverse commutes should be IMO 20 years. By that time, over 1/2 the 1,000 spots would have opened and been refilled at least once, and that is real people-oriented economic growth. Short-term it only helps the Grand List.

Metro North, car pooling, and the possibility of future employees residing in Stamford...so 1,000 extra cars won't happen.

kidyankee, NYC firm with 1,000 emps at most will create 200 openings short-term. The deal should be structured based on new jobs filled by Ct residents, not overall headcount. It appears the Economic Development folks in Ct think the nation ends after Manhattan. I'll applaud them when they relo a corp from the South, Midwest, or West, but not from 25 miles away. They have just created 800 plus reverse commutes.

That will spend lunch money in the CBD, pay income taxes, not use as many services, that will keep local property taxes lower because they are keeping office buildings on the tax rolls. Besides I'm pretty sure the state can't say "these jobs have to be CT residents" legally.
