Thanks in advance
maybe this is not your taste maybe it is
the area over the connecticut border in port chester ny that would be by the big waters.. or back over the connecticut ny line to byrum in connecticut is good to for a place to live. crime is low in those areas
then you got the greenwich high school about 5 more miles into connecticut or the portchester high school. public schools your talking right?.. now hold on you say your a pastor.. there is a catholic high school to in greenwich ct.. i lived around here all my life and still like it.
but if your going to be working in hartford ct then it would make more sense to live there.

The easiest answer is usually the best answer.

Live in West Hartford and you'll be fine. Good schools, safe but fairly urban, easy access to events in Hartford. If I were you I'd move there.

Good luck!

Portchester and Greenwich are no where near Hartford. I htink the other suggestions would be better for the OP. Jay

"Yeah, but the thing is the real country/rural towns in that area have NO diversity. That's how it is in CT. I'm thinking New Hartford, Collinsville, Canton, Litchfield, Marlborough, Hebron. Absolutely no diversity and we're talking 95%+ white."

I wouldn't jump to conclusions like that - I live in Collinsville and just on my small street there is an African American family, two families headed by same-sex couples, a Wiccan family and an Indian family. There may not be much racial diversity, but it is there and, believe it or not, there is more to diversity than just skin color. Collinsville also has a huge range of income with homes going for $800,000 down the street from homes for $200,000 and just a short walk from very affordable apartments. In just a short walk, you can go from the 1% all the way to the bottom of the 99%.

I have family in Collinsville and you are correct it is a very diverse and interesting community. They are people who wanted a more diverse community but did not want the hassles of a large urban area. They reluctantly moved to Collinsville and now love it. Jay
