Dude, what kind of rock have you been living under?

The smoking ban has been in effect for quite some time now.

People still smoke in their cars before they get to the bar/club. It's pretty obvious when you can smell a smoker. I'm not talking about the actual act of smoking itself. I have no interest in dating or hooking up with smokers.

Maybe you missed the fact that I'm gay. Whenever I have gone out to the gay bars in CT, the scene is terrible. I don't connect with anyone. They are too superficial and not even worth my time. But it's not a problem that's exclusive to CT. It's actually like that everywhere in the gay community, unfortunately.

Sweety I know you are gay so am I. And I am fine with the gay clubs here, which is too bad you not into that type of gay scene...

Well, as yet another gay man who doesn't do the bar / club scene. I find Connecticut very appealing. I find there is plenty to do here. While I travel very frequently for work, in the past months in Connecticut I have:

Attended two large concerts
Seen both professional baseball and hockey
Attended a pride event
Attended two gay related business events
Attended two other professional development events
Tried 3 new world class restaurants-- and ate at 10 existing favorites
Walked on an empty beach with my partner
Sipped coffee while browsing for books
Enjoyed world-class shopping
Went to NYC and Boston on the train

Connecticut, like any place is what you make it. I also enjoy visiting with life-long friends and quiet evenings at home with my partner.

It's not going to appeal to everybody-- but it certainly is a fine place to live for professional gay men-- whether or not they enjoy the bar scene.

The Indian Casinos are like on Grand Isle??? New Haven is the 4th violent city in the U.S. They just had murder #34 the other night. Hartford is in the top 20 too. Culture is zippo next to NYC. Yeh like the the Hartford or New Haven Ballet is like the ABT and the symphony is like the NY philomonic??
