" They" can do anything " they " want. You have the right to order your pizza from any place you like. You also have the right to go pick it up- lol .

Pizza delivery is a courtesy on the part of the restaurant, nothing else. They can extend that courtesy to as wide or as as a narrow an area as '" they" chose. There are no laws about this. It's entirely up to the restaurant if they want to even offer delivery.

Most pizza places that deliver have a limited area of which they will deliver to otherwise they would have to drive all over. I can't speak for Greenwich or Stamford but I know the places in a neighboring town here will deliver to our town. It is more of how far you are from the pizza place than being on one side of some invisible line. Jay

The price of gas is shooting up and I suspect delivery tips have not gone up in tandem; you can hardly blame restaurants for not wanting to extend their range very far.

I find it ironic the original post was made on 4/20.

This isn't entirely true. Friends of ours in East Haven cannot get delivery from Il Forno Pizza in Branford (terrible pizza, don't go) even though both Il Forno and our friends are right on the town line. We have gotten delivery from Il Forno and we live halfway across Branford. It has a lot to do with those invisible town lines in some cases.

You're at the mercy of the business really. If you think it's wrong, go out and open your own pizza shop and show them how it should be done. You can always take your business some place else.

With the cost of gas I'm not surprised, be prepared to see delivery ranges shrink or the end of delivery all together at some shops.

Personally I like the experience of driving to a mom and pop place, picking up the pizza, smelling the shop, and having the pizza smell fill up the car on the ride home. Maybe I'm crazy.

Then that is a policy of the restaurant that should be challenged. Jay
