Stylo, thanks for the impressive rundown on the arts scene in New Haven. It's just too far from the city though. As I said, I'm not going to go to a 10 minute auditions and spend 3 1/2 hours traveling to and from.

Stratford Ct guy, I had thought about Silvermine. I saw there were a couple of decent looking houses under 500k there. It's worth looking into.

Yes New Haven is too far, but at least you know you have access to all that good stuff from CT within a short drive.

Fairfield's pretty liberal and getting artsier, I think. Fairfield Theater Company's Stage One is pretty fantastic for music, and you're quite close to a wonderful venue in Bridgeport called the Bridgeport Theatre Company, where you can bring your own dinner and drinks. There's a pretty good local food scene out here with a lot of CSAs and Farmer's Markets. I've liked it more and more the longer I've stayed here.
