East Hartford and no 8 here. I may have gotten it when I did the initial scan.

I have a 50 mile antenna but it's on the main floor. I've had it almost a year now and we definitely had reception issues in the summer. What I really wanted was ION and we do get that

Make sure the antenna can handle VHF! If not, you won't get WTNH-TV, since they use channel 10. At my previous place in New Britain's south end, I almost never got channel 8, but had almost no issues getting channel 26 (ION). In fact, with the right orientation, I would also get WPXQ-TV (ION) channel 69 from Block Island/Providence. Of course it helps that the station's transmitter is in Exeter, RI, close to the Connecticut border.

As a side question, any reception from Springfield, MA? I picked up WGGB-TV (ABC) channel 40 in New Britain a grand total of once.

Pretty sure my ION is from MA (22.3)

I got 40 on my initial scan but not sure if I get that anymore. We changed the antenna location during the summer. Some day I'll run it upstairs.
