I am new to the forums and have seen lately that I-84 Easy through Hartford is congested 24/7. I am not aware of any construction, but at midnight Exits 44-51 have been slow according to Google Maps. There is a project on Asylum Street but nothing on 84 that Gm knows of. What is going on?

Drove through there recently. Looked like they're repaving part of I-91 near the I-84 crossover.

They have milled the area and will be repaving. I think the road work is from 11 pm to 5 am. I drove 91 south to 84 east 2 days ago and that whole area was grooved pavement and under construction.

Confirming this. I got on at Broad St (east bound) this morning, and there was grooved pavement through the Rt 2 exit at least and probably further. Really bad shape but temporary of course.

Yes, it's a repaving project. I hope they finish soon, as driving through the mini-tunnel ("Aetna Viaduct") feels very dangerous since there are no lane lines. Yet, there are 4 lanes of cars looking to merge over and get off either Asylum Street or Signourney Street.

The paving on the eastbound side of 84 has started, hopefully it will all be wrapped up by the end of the week (along with the west side).
