Hi, Hoping to get some information on apartment rentals near New London Ct. As I will be starting work in August. I'm looking for an apartment complex with off-street parking. I've heard that arts of New London are not safe, any information about New London or other neighborhoods that are within a 15-20 min commute would be appreciated.

welcome to Connecticut and to the area.

Most of New London is pretty safe, but there are definitely some questionable areas near the downtown area.

What is your overall budget?

Area-wise, New London is very small. So, you can be within 20 minutes and be several towns over. You can also look at Waterford, East Lyme, Niantic, Stonington, Mystic, Groton, Ledyard, Uncasville, Montville and maybe one or two other places.

Avoid Lawrence + Memorial Hospital area around Montauk Ave, Ocean Ave, Willits It a little sketchy otherwise New London is fine

New London a tiny city 5 sq area wise...... Groton, Waterford is which is next to New London is better

actually, I think once you get past L&M Hospital on Ocean Avenue heading towards the beach area, the area is pretty much residential and not bad. In the other direction is definitely questionable, though.

Yes, stay south of Lawrence & Memorial if you're looking in New London. Try condo rentals in Waterford which is perfectly safe anywhere. Depending on your budget there are also nice condo & apartment rentals in Groton.

Even immediately around the hospital itself is not bad. It is a little further north that it get questionable. Jay

I would look at Groton for rentals. New London has some seedy areas.

That would be the one area of New London that I would say is decent. Avoid the rest of it.
