Someone down below in the Facebook comments posted that they left CT for Oklahoma and never looked back! I've considered Oklahoma at one point. I have a friend there. It might be a better place to live than CT.

No, majority of it is spot on, not false, though I never heard of #1, and the Lake Compounce thing could just be an oversight on the town.

The only person I know of in CT that wore boat shoes moved to Texas about 8-10 years ago.

I don't hate deer - just annoyed by them sometimes.

PT Barnum was from Bridgeport, not Lake Compounce.

Has the Meadows been around long enough to be a tradition?

Actually, I don't consider the state's people very liberal or very conservative. While there are plenty of both in the state, I'd consider CT to be more center-left than very liberal or very conservative. If it were that liberal, we wouldn't have had Republican governors for 20 years before Malloy.

Not to mention, the link references I-85. Last I knew, that interstate ran through the Carolinas to Georgia. Theses lists just get worse and worse. It is pretty obvious that whoever wrote this really knows nothing about the state.

P.S. I have never met anyone in CT who hates deer with a fiery passion. What a weird thing to say.

There is Route 85 that runs from down on the shoreline near Waterford or New London all the way up to Manchester. That can get windy. But, the author specified I-85.

Yes, they specified Interstate 85. I live right near the northern section of CT Route 85. I have never encountered aggressive or even rude drivers on that road that I can recall (whether northern end or south to Waterford), so I don't think that is what they were referring to. Bottom line: I need to stop reading this poorly written, plainly wrong clickbait.

Good luck with that. You haven't seen poor till you've seen Oklahoma poor.

Look up who their senator are... I'm sure you'd love the political current there as well.
