So I want to see what everyone's experience has been with T-Mobile and in what areas. I'm mostly interested with experiences from no later than the last couple of years, T-Mobile has gotten much better over the years and I'm well aware of it's... tough start lol.

Anyone still have trouble with the service? I have Verizon now... but it's just expensive and I'd like to see where I can bring down my costs!

In FFC, mostly good reception till you get off the main roads north of the parkway. LTE reception in town. Spotty reception in some large buildings (like malls). I use WiFi a lot in buildings, and it works fine.

DW has tried several service providers and Verizon is the best in Connecticut hands down. Others have spotty service when you travel throughout the state. As the saying goes "you get what you pay for". Jay

You can check their service map here to see which areas have better service: T-Mobile's Data Strong 4G Network | Check Your Coverage | T-Mobile

Personally I had fine service in most places along the shoreline of FFC but it got spotty the more north I went.

I work events all over the state (and one in RI), and those of us with Verizon have the best service. I think there is one location where AT&T is a little better. Those with T-Mobile or Sprint sometimes have no service at all.

T-Mobile coverage is spotty compared to Verizon or AT&T. When I was with AT&T I could steam Netflix all the way from NYC to New Haven but with T-Mobile I get constant signal dead spots. My observation as T-Mobile customer is the service is worse than the bigger carriers in rural areas and inside buildings. The benefits include wifi calling and a cheaper monthly bill.

I live in NY but I'm in FFC and the New Haven, Waterbury and Hartford areas a lot and this sums up how TMobile has been for me when in CT

I have sprint and have no issues with service except in the far north west corner of CT. Every where else is good. I use a lot of data and Sprints unlimited packages are much cheaper than Verizon and AT&T. Last billing cycle I used 67gb's of data. I believe t mobile throttles after a certain amount of data used.

I switched to Sprint late last year when they had that half price deal. I had Verizon before. I have a lot of issues with service in S/E Connecticut - I lose reception on Boston Post Rd in East Lyme in a commercial area, and I remember trying to get and receive calls from my wife while in the parking lot of her company in New London. No service for me around a good part of downtown New London. I also lose service on parts of Route 9 between Deep River & Middletown.

Not sure if Sprint compiles their data usage differently, either, but in 6 of the 7 months I've had Sprint, I have gone over the 2GB limit and gotten close to 3GB, and this is with me trying to cut back on usage when I don't have WiFi. In the previous three years with Verizon and having 2GB, I went over once and was typically closer to 1.5GB used.

I used to have Verizon's unlimited data plan before, but when it was time to upgrade, my wife insisted on a free phone, even if it meant giving up unlimited data...I told her that was not a good move at the time, and I think I've been proven right. 6 months of overage at $15/GB is $90 and going up to $105 soon. Plus, having to buy a new GPS for the car instead of just using my phone (and the data) is maybe another $100... now, I barely use my phone for anything beyond texting, email, and phone calls when I don't have WiFi. (And, I'm one of those geeky types who love new gadgets and would probably use it almost as much as western mass and love it does above if given the chance.)

Tmobile works fine in milford, fairfield and hartford. A few drop calls, but not bad.
