Also you can't tell me there isn't any Yale special interest involved….
Even what the city is doing to Route 34 does not involve Yale. Why would they want a highway that leads directly to their front door closed? The city wants to encourage more development south of Route 34 in the Medical District in hopes of improving the Hill neighborhood. To do that they are eliminating the last 1/2 mile of the expressway and allowing development there. Should help the city, at least that is what the Planners think. Jay

What's your commute again? Start and finish?

Orange (34 area) to Hospice in Branford…going there every day in the evening after work.

I usually hit NH around 4:30. Tried 95 getting on in Orange, but it's insane traffic starting in West Haven until you pretty much hit East Haven… I also tried Wooster St on ramp but to get to that area it takes about as much time.

You said it took you 45 minutes to go a mile on 34 (which seems exaggerated?), and there's no way it takes that long to get through New Haven on 95 unless traffic is epic.

Try this yet?

No Stylo, it is NOT exaggerated and I don't appreciate being accused of such….

The reason it takes 30-45 minutes is because police completely stop traffic every light cycle to allow traffic to exit from the garage. This results in traffic back up way far down the road. Sometimes I sit there for 3, 4, 5 light cycles before I can get through one intersection. On top of that you have cross traffic trying to beat the light who end up blocking the intersection, now allowing whatever cars COULD make the intersection through.

If you're going to be rude say I am exaggerating then please don't even give me suggestions.. Thanks.

Ugh, and I'm supposed to be looking for jobs to move to NHC to get AWAY from horrible traffic. Sounds like NHC traffic is horrible, too.

I'm mostly talking about street traffic in downtown New Haven… It is nothing like 95 through Fairfield County..
