Thx Slipperman! Excellent pic!

Btw Cambium, I'm out of reps but the rainbow shot from 2013 was beautiful.

Cool. Thanks for the comments and glad you enjoyed them all. I'm glad it stayed a sticky thread instead of the food thread. Now.... your next venture is to look at all the other City Data State Picture threads. One of my favorites is the Vermont Pictures.
Wyoming is another.

Had to check something... Yep, front lawn still there. Grass is actually still green. lol
Record depth for here in March. Never in my life for sure.

Today makes 40 days without seeing the grass here. Not a record but definitely in Top 10. 2011 was the record with 60 days at BDR.

That's actually encouraging to me. I can remember more winters than not here in upstate NY, when the snow would be on the ground from late November right thru the end of March. Forty days without seeing the grass - even 60 - would be ok with me.

Here's a comparison shot of today on left, Summer on Right (7/14/14). The beauty of having 4 different seasons is when you get tired of 1, rest assure the other is coming. Sometimes late, Sometimes Early.

March 9, 2015. Lived near the coast all my life and have Never seen a lasting thick snowpack like this in March.

Amazingly parking lot still full of snow.

No Sand Dunes around, Just Snow Dunes.

Boats finally starting to appear again

Kids today wont know what sand is? Haha (I had to).

This is all sandy area.

It's good we're not getting heavy rains between rivers and pooling of water. Just slow melting with temps in the 40s and strong sun.

Snow getting very soft! Can't believe I'm still sinking in past ankle! Nuts!

Drift or not, Snowpack seems to range 6-12" at the beach.

Amazing to see no more Ice on the Sound in this area and water nice and blue. Snow still on land and beaches in distance as well.

Compare this picture to this from 2 weeks ago

By this time in 2012 Strawberries were sprouting.

2013 I was tilling the soil.

Last yr this time only small piles were around and a 1 inch snowpack only because of the 7" snowstorm on March 8th. Otherwise ground was bare and just piles were around.

This year.... an 11" snowpack

Been later and later every year since I can remember in 2010.
