How is it possible that one town could win so many of the various spring sports FCIACs at the same time?
Plus Football, Hockey, others? Seems sort of crazy?

It's also the richest town in the country.

God has clearly smiled upon this town.

Peace upon everyone.

For clarity ... Darien I assume ...Not sure it's crazy ... but certainly is remarkable.

Coincidence for the year.
It's a watered down league now. Top athletes from all towns/cities are recruited into elite prep schools.

The FCIAC is the best lacrosse league with Darien, Staples (Westport), New Canaan, Greenwich being some of the premier teams not only in the state but in the country. FCIAC is usually one of the better basketball leagues in the state. Boys basketball was down, but girls basketball Warde (Fairfield), Greenwich, Stamford, and Trumbull were all hovering around the top 15-20 in the state the whole season, while Stamford had one of the best players in the state in guard Tiana England who's playing at division 1 St. John's next year. So, that's just some of the reasons.

You forgot Wilton, Ridgefield and St. Joe's for lax. The FCIAC is also the strongest football conference in the state. Field hockey too.

Good facilities, decently paid coaches, and kids whose parents have the means and will to spend a buttload of money on sports camps, top of line equipment/gear, and private coaches. Of course, not all do that but plenty of people in general do...even people who don't have the excess cash. My kids range from ages 11-18....trust me, youth sports have become an absolute racket.

Agreed, the racket is real. The travel teams, the tournaments, the showcases, all in the name of getting your kid an athletic scholarship. Lots of money to be made preying on the fears of the upper middle class. They'd be better off putting all that money into a 529, cause the scholarships are few and far between.

Perfectly stated! College showcases get me and I recently read an article on some D1 coaches who hate them too along with signing kids when they're still lower classmen. But they feel the need to play the game unfortunately...no pun intended.
