Hey All,

I wanted to reach out to the community for any thoughts on the locations of the following apartments:

40 Stoneridge Cir
Stamford, CT 06902

39 Fairgate Dr
Stamford, CT 06902

Both look pretty nice and within my price range.

Anything worth knowing about where these are located, good, bad or indifferent?

I thank you in advance for your thoughts.

- Chris

With names like Stoneridge and Fairgate, I had assumed these places were in North Stamford. In fact they are re-developments of public housing projects (with new street names) on the West side of Stamford. They are part of the Charter Oaks Community project. They are in a so-so part of town---better than it used to be, but not the greatest. I think these projects will include "affordable" housing. Here are links:

It appears that Stoneridge is part of the Palmer Square development:

Of these Stoneridge is the better location bordering Old Greenwich. The Fairgate location is one of the last really bad pockets of Stamford, with some recent shootings in the area. However, Stoneridge really isn't far away either so I would say neither of these are ideal locations, and both would be considered "projects," albeit nicer looking ones.
