Nope still calling it. They hyped this storm up and now they are down playing it. Saying 12am to 8am 2 inches of snow with ice. 8am to 12pm 2 to 4 more inches. 12pm to 8pm 4 to 8 more inches. 8pm to 2 AM 4 to 6 inches.

NYC schools just closed.

I have a feeling this storm will way underperform in CT north of Fairfield and New Haven County.

In 2010 there is a snowstorm in which Philly thru DC got over a foot but the cutoff here was so sharp that parts of Staten Island got 3-4" yet no one else in NY City or state (including LI and certainly no one in CT) got anything! Talk about a close calll.....
1983 February..same thing..was snowing in NYC for HOURS before the shield crept up past White Plains..eventually it got further north.

Well there is no doubt northern CT will get cut off the heavy snow. Just a matter of how far north that shield gets..if you are in the shield ..yer in it. But I doubt it makes it much past the 84 corridor.

Gfs has over 1" liquid all snow for DXR. Ok, now I see why. Lol.

Here's the liquid amount forecast. That's a lot.

Any predictions for the Boston area? Sounds like their snow amounts would heavily depend on redevelopment off the coast, rather than the original mid-Atlantic storm?

Theres going to be multiple storm centers off the coast. Makes it more tough. I say 4-6" for Boston area.

I like this map. 6-12" is rediculous though based on the range. Might as well say 1-20. Lol. I say 5-8" south of Merrit
