We are looking to move somewhere near Eastford, CT / Pomfret, Killingly. I work in Waltham,MA and my husband works in Branford,CT so we are looking to move somewhere in the middle.
We get remote work now and then so we are thinking we can manage it as in 395 route it takes only 2 hours in early morning from Branford to Waltham.
We have a four year old, who will join kindergarden coming June.
So, can you please recommend good school districts and safe places.
Thank you.

Reason: Changing title
Do you mean by "remote work now and then" that you will not commute regularly to Waltham and Branford? It just seems like an awfully long drive to be doing every day...
Pomfret and Woodstock probably have the best public kindergarten programs in the area.
It seems like it would make your life so much easier to find another job closer to Branford, if that is an option. Cost of living around Waltham is very high, but east of Branford you could find good schools and better value.
Waltham is more than 130 miles from Branford. That makes for a long commute for both of you. Especially difficult with a small child. Half way between the two puts you somewhere in the quiet corner. That part of the state is more small rural towns or older mill towns that have seen better days. I know people that live in Woodstock and thought the schools were good. They won't be as good as you would find in more affluent suburbs near big cities though. Brooklyn, CT would also be an option that would be a little closer to Branford but further from Waltham. Still these are not going to be good commutes. Good luck. Jay
