If its 750 in CT, its safe. That's by default. This isn't LA.
Pre COVID induced hot RE market, I would say you could hunt the low end of the A-listers like Greenwich, NC, Darien, Westport. Not sure now.

I’m guessing that Greenwich won’t provide enough house, if any at all in your price range. It would be my first choice. Great schools, excellent shopping and restaurants, beautiful parks and beaches, short train rides into Manhattan and low taxes. Taxes are so low, you might qualify for a larger mortgage and a higher price than other towns.

That said, I agree the above are the OP’s best options. During rush hour, you are talking 45 to 60 minutes to White Plains depending on traffic. Wilton and Ridgefield have excellent schools, very good shopping and dining and a lot for families to do.

New Fairfield also has good schools and lots for families butbits shopping and dining options are limited. It also would give you the most house for your money. It’s up to you if it’s worth it. Jay

Stay on ny!! All the inner city ny trash are all buying homes here and driving up rents and prices on homes. Further neighborhoods will soon turn to a big dump like ny

I would agree with the ridge and Wilton. Great towns, nice size property and you’ll have some choice in that price range.
