Hard hard hard disagree. I think you need to visit more beaches in New England! And yes there's a few in Cali that will blow you away with their beauty.

The keys beaches aren't that impressive IMO. That area is more for fishing/diving.

Lol, the Panhandle? no thanks, but whatever works for you by all means enjoy.
I like the Keys when I'm in a 34ft Contender, otherwise they're useless, might as well be in Orlando.

People aren't fainting in disbelief when they first lay eyes opon the CT coast, I get that, but there's still no better place to be than out in the Sound on a warm breezy day anchoring up near an island, casting out or relaxing in Zeigler's Cove. I just queue up the Sound soundtrack Apple playlist over the marine radio

No one travels to New England for its beaches. People do go to Florida, including New Englanders. When for a beach to be beautiful you need scenery from a backdrop is because the beach itself is nothing to write home about. There is not much backdrop scenery to beaches in Florida, definitely no mountains or hilly terrain to be seen from any of its beaches. Yet, the beaches themselves don’t need the backdrop to be beautiful. There is no such thing in New England (in much of the east coast when it comes to this) and basically everywhere on the west coast. You can’t even go into the sea in any of the west coast beaches and not feel cold water, it doesn’t matter the season either.

Florida doesn’t even need to advertise their beaches since it’s known some of its beaches are unlike what is seen anywhere on the east coast. CT or even New England doesn’t really advertises its beaches to attract people and in part that’s because it can’t. It can with the casinos, historical sites, beautidul towns, natural scenery in the height of autumn… beaches? Nit so much.

As you well know as a seasoned experienced Nutmeggar, CT people love the Vineyard, Nantucket, Cape and Block Island. You should hear the things they say. They plan a year ahead. Pack up the kids and aussies and go.
CT people plan New England beaches vacations like you wouldn’t believe.

That is not true. A lot of people from other states come to New England beaches in places like Rhode Island, Cape Cod, Maine coast, New Hampshire’s Seacoast and even Connecticut. A friend in Texas comes to Cape Cod every year. A family member from a southern state summered on the Cape as well. Go to any beach town and you’ll see out of state cars. New York cars are the most prominent but you’ll also see New Jersey, Pennsylvania, among others as well.

There are two ways to get a nice beach in CT:

1. Jump in a boat and go to LIS on a nice day.
2. Jump in a boat and go to Fisher's Island.

Yep. That's why hotels on cape cod are either $500+ or sold out in summer.

Not true at all. I've known several people that have traveled across the country to go to MV/Nantucket/Cape/Acadia/etc.

Florida beaches aren't necessarily more beautiful, the water is just warmer. And there's not much else to do there.

Also re: scenery, again, I don't think you've been to New England's gorgeous beaches. Again, Great Point in Nantucket is stunning. Pristine white sand, blue clear water, and no dumb hotels all built up.

Larry David and Doug Demuro come from CA every summer

Cinnamon Bay is the nicest beach I've been to in the world. And I've been to plenty.
