I don't think I have ever ween a list of what are considered the best golf courses in Connecticut. The most beautiful? The most challenging?

Which were designed of reknown golfers/designers such as Robert Trent Jones Jr or Jack Nicklaus or Arnold Palmer, etc?

Which are the most exclusive golf clubs?

With the amount of golf courses in the state, I'm baffled I have never seen such information.

Make no distinction between private and municipally owned golf courses.

I don't think most municipalities in the state own a golf course, much less more than one. The second one fould be a rarity even with municipalities that do own golf courses.

For example, little is known (I think even among most residents in the municipality) that Stamford actually owns two golf courses. You can actually partially see them in Google Street View.

E. Gaynor Brennan (I have been multiple times to this one, mostly to the restaurant.)

I think one of the most memorable aspects of this golf course, whether a person has been to this place or simply ride by on Stillwater Avenue, is this line of large beautiful Spruce Pines. As usual, nothing beats seeing them in person.

Sterling Farms
Here they actually went into the parking lot and due to that got better images.

I find it surprising they entered at least towards the club houses of several private golf clubs, such as these two to which I have been tomon several occasions.

Country Club of Darien

Round Hill Club (Greenwich)

Others such as Innis Arden (Old Greenwich) it was expected given a public road runs through the course and the club house is almost on it. What isn't expected is that they did it during the height of autumn. Look at that beauty with the trees in different colors.

What are CT's best golf courses? The most beautiful? The most memorable? The hardest to play?

I’m not a golfer, but Great River in Milford is beautiful.

“ Built along the banks of the Housatonic River, Great River Golf Club is a championship-style, Tommy Fazio-designed 18-hole golfing destination offering a first-class experience for golfers of all abilities.”

Pine Orchard and Madison Country Club are beautiful too.

With rolling fairways and greens surrounded by trees and greenery, how can a golf course not look beautiful.

I haven't been there yet but Richter in Danbury has a reputation of being one of if not the nicest municipal courses in CT.

Then I haven't been to any of those. All the courses I've been to in CT have been exceptional. Privates and municipals.

Black Hall in Old Lyme is no joke. There are some absolutely brutal holes.

Over the years, Danbury's Richter golf course has ranked as one of the top public courses. Ridgefield also has a town owned course as well.
I've shown houses in the River Oaks comminity in Sherman, which is centered around a private course, that seemed lovely. But I don't golf
