It is with great sadness that I have to report the death of one of our regular posters, dazzleman. For many years he was one of our best regular posters who was always there with great information and insight. He will be sorely missed.

As some of you may know, dazzleman lived in the Brooklawn Park section of Fairfield. The street he lived on was near where I grew up and I loved to bike around his neighborhood and admire the beautiful homes there. This gave us a casual friendship via Direct Messages that I will miss.

He hasn’t posted here since late last year. I knew he was very sick but not long before he passed he sent me a DM joking that I hadn’t infracted him in a long time. He liked being infracted because it made him feel like he was a “bad boy”.

Below is a link to his obituary. It sounds like he led a wonderful life. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Again he will be sorely missed. Jay

I’m sad to hear this and was wondering where he’d been all this time. He and I shared many DMs, but never met in person. Thanks for sharing this. Thoughts and prayers to the family and friends.

We were at Fordham the same time. Didn't know him, as I was in the business school. R.I.P.

Wow, I was at Fordham at that time, too. I lived on campus at Rose Hill and got my BA in 1983.

I was class 1984, transfer, lived there weekdays, came home to work leaving Friday after classes -weekend telemarketing job in Milford. Stayed at that job 4.5 years, had a blast. Their head office wanted me in Accounting when I graduated, but I did not want to go to Danbury.

Used to see Mayor Richitelli in passing at times at Fordham.

sad to die that young. I knew even if it wasn't mentioned to guess it would be cancer.

Yes, he was too young and it was cancer which he alluded to in my DM’s from him. He was positive even up to the near end. It’s sad he lost the battle. And I’m sorry I didn’t think to check back with him sooner. My bad. Jay

I am shocked and so sorry to hear this. We had a lot of great DMs through the years once he learned from one of my posts that he and I grew up in the same area in Westchester (and many of his relatives were from my exact hometown). Our views didn't usually align (but they sometimes did) but our DM discussions were very respectful and peaceful, something that has long been lacking in our society (sigh!).

May his memory be a blessing and RIP.....and wow, he's only 5 years older than I, way too young.....
