Well, here is the report from southeast Connecticut where the weather was the worst…….. Last night between 9:00 PM and 11:30 PM

Around 9:30 the rain and wind really started wiping. Wind was 40-mph, absolutely torrential rain, and the several parts of Mystic were flooded (I had to drop off someone from Saybrook). They had a lot of branches down on route 1 from Mystic to Groton, and through the Lymes. There was some overwash in Saybrook. We went returned home around 9:45 the worst came….., very heavy rain, 40-mph winds and the power kept flickering on and off. Some braches fell, but nothing too big. The rain was most impressive, I must say, the whole yard was about 6 –in under water. At about 10:30 it was coming down like a super typhoon in Guam (lol). My barometer fell to 29.47 inches (center of storm passed over right over far eastern CT). It makes you think, when they tell you the 1938 Hurricane had a pressure of 27.94 inches.

Still, I’ll take it. That’s what I love about the East Coast… green and rain. Forget the dry, brown Mediterranean California and Italy “dead look’ to everything. Mosit air, green, and rain. The craddle of life.

Once again today will be beautiful…..sunny and 80 F. Surf in Westerly should still be high.

Ahh, another beach day.

Hmm. That was no where near as bad as I thought it would be. Nor'easters are worse. I stood in my screened porch last night and actually enjoyed the rain and wind. Good night to stay in and watch a movie though.
