Hi folks, just wanted to pass along some news and share an opportunity to "help" if you so wish.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition is doing a project in CT so I decided to step up and volunteer my company time and manpower to help out.

Some of you may remember the story of the Girard family and the tragedy their family underwent here in CT. Well they will be getting a new home out of all the misery. Yes, it doesn't replace the loved ones, but at least we can do something for them.

I can't really say too much about the project right now as it's fully underway...The "door knock" was on the 4th and you would not believe the fury of activity going on.

We hope to be done end of next week with everything.

There is a place to donate towards this project if you look around at the site a listed above.

I'll post some pictures and "inside" info when it's all said and done. I'm really happy to be able to help this family in some way!

Best,

J

How awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw the story on the news last night and got chills, especially when the little boy was talking about "that day."

It's fabulous that you're able to help them; it really is.

JV - awesome! It's great that you're willing and able to help a family in need. Kudos to everyone who is going out of their way, especially in this economy, to help them. Volunteers such as yourself are lacking, and good for you for stepping up.

Yes, I remeber when this happened. It is great to hear you are involved. I would add to your reputation points but the board won't let me and says I need to spread the points around. Jay

As Ali G (for the uninitiated : another avatar of Sacha Baron Cohen, who played Borat) would say - Respect, Respect !

Hello to all...a quick reply as I'm running back out of the office.

Thanks for the kind words, it's a real pleasure to be able to do this. I do truely believe that you reap what you sow so I'm not too concerned about the loss in revenue. In fact we just picked up an 8.5K contract for January that should fill a good piece of the Winter void. Go figure.

I should have some pics and whatnot towards the end of this week.

Best,

J

I'm not the guy to talk to about that. Follow a link on the site and ask how you can help. It's well underway though, so it may be a little late for that type of service. Can't hurt to ask though.

How Awesome, I LOVE that show!!! I wish I heard earlier so I could help out this whole week. I feel like a moron that I didn't hear about this earlier. What a deserving family too, I hope it brings them some relief. Can volunteers just show up and help out or do you have to sign up somewhere.
