Who thinks those who wish to merge FFC with NY, should just move to NY?
Do you want Fairfield County to secede from the state of CT, and merge with the state of NY?

YES. I hate it when people have only been to Fairfield County and then assume all of CT is like that. We're not all rich and spoiled. It is very pretty there in some locations, and something to be proud of in certain ways, but eh, give it to New York. I love New York too but I think that county matches the New York lifestyle more than that of Connecticut. Let us be our own state!

Yes, because then in order to get out of New York you'd need to move to New Haven or Litchfield counties and my home would sell. Not being too selfish, am I?

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. It's like saying that Newark is a good example of NJ, or Staten Island is a place people actually want to go to.
Just because people have an impression that Greenwich and a couple of other towns on the coast are emblematic of the rest of the state, doesn't mean that I want to become part of Westchester. Give it 10-15 years, and that impression will bleed into the New Haven area...then what - just annex the whole state onto NY?

Perhaps Connecticut should annex New York City!

So, you're saying the story of abject poverty on the west side of Stamford and the east side of Bridgeport, along with the myth of middle-class folks populating places like Stratford, Shelton, Trumbull, Monroe, Newtown, Danbury and wait...OLD GREENWICH...is actually TRUE?!?!
